Does anyone out there have any detailed information on the Aleutian 51 Ketch?  I’ve searched and searched and cannot find much info except the designer (who’s passed) and the fact that boat might be built in Canada or Taiwan.

I’m going to look at this boat Aleutian 51 next weekend and want to find out more info, so I’m reaching out via my own blog.  I’ve found one other boat for sale in google and I’ve found one blog from a couple sailing an Aleutian, but can’t figure out how to contact them from their blog.

If you have any info, please let me know-

  1. Hello

My wife and me we owned an Aleutian 51 for 7 years.
We bough her in the south of Spain and keep her in Lisbon, Portugal, where we leave.
Later we sold her to friends of us and they still keep the boat at Lisbon, in good order.
She is a safe and strong boat, very comfortable. She is an heavy boat, so she needs some wind to sail, bur in the propoer conditions she is a fast cruisinf boat.
We sailed twice from Lisbon to Azores and we used spend al our weekends and holidays inboar.
We only sold her because we were churchung a catamaran.
Our Aleitiam was designed by Stanley Huntingford, from Vancouver , passed some years ago. The hull was biult in Taiwan, and then the boat was completed in Canada.
Our Aleutian 51 had the name of VESPER, but now, with our friens, her name is OLD LADY.
If you still need more information, perhaps I can help you.
I have fhotos and an interior plan of the boat.
    My mail:
